Our organisation aims to defend the rights and interests of workers for the sectors represented by our organisation and to help coordinate European policies to benefit them. To achieve this, we actively engage in European social dialogue and attempt to bring issues, interests, and the concerns of our sector to the attention of the European Institutions. In turn we provide national affiliated organisations with information from the EU level that is relevant and useful to them.

Mental health is an occupational health issue. In construction, wood, forestry and cement as building materials sectors, workers face demanding and changing working conditions, with high mobility, long subcontracting chains, major OSH challenges and exposure to hazardous substances, including carcinogens. At the same time, the deep transformation of our sectors through AI and the greening of industry is creating new uncertainties and stress. We need to prevent psychosocial risks through better work organisation, proper risk assessment and the active involvement of workers. Mental health must be part of creating safer and healthier workplaces across our sectors.
