UEMS Occupational Medicine section
The mission of the Occupational Medicine Section is to promote the development of the speciality of Occupational Medicine in Europe with the aim to improve the health of the workers.
This would be achieved by:
- supporting and defending the role of occupational medicine in society with the aim to promote the health of workers
- influencing EU legislators
- collaborating with appropriate institutions
- ensuring the quality of training and professional practice, and identifying and taking action on common issues

Mental health is an essential component of workers’ overall health and well-being. Occupational medicine specialists, combining medical expertise with a thorough understanding of working conditions, workplace organisation and occupational risks, are uniquely placed to contribute to the identification and prevention of psychosocial risks and to the development of supportive and mentally healthy workplaces.
